AVTECH Software is pleased to announce that an update to the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility is available for download at AVTECH.com.
AVTECH Device Discovery v3.0.0 includes the following:
- Added support for saving and restoring settings on the Room Alert 26W and Room Alert 24E.
- Modified the firmware update process to prevent incorrect firmware from being uploaded to a device.
- Modified the 'Search' feature to automatically scan the network for devices every sixty (60) seconds.
- Updated the Status Bar to display a countdown to the next discovery search.
- Discovered devices are now saved to a list and compared on each scan. If a device was previously discovered and is no longer found on the network, it will appear in a gray italic font in the list. If a firmware update is in progress on a device, it will appear in a blue font in the list.
- Improved support for multiple network interface cards (NICs). When more than one NIC is present on the system, requests are automatically sent and received on the correct NIC for that device.
- Improved the 'Search' feature so the list of discovered devices is displayed in less than one (1) second in most cases.
- Modified the 'Update' feature so device discovery scans are still performed in the background while a firmware update is in progress.
- Improved logging to provide more detailed information to help diagnose network discovery or firmware update issues.
- Added an 'Update.log' feature that individually logs each firmware update attempt. This will be useful for diagnosing issues that occur during firmware updates. A prompt will now display after the firmware update is complete to ask the user if they would like to view the 'Update.log' file to confirm the firmware update completed successfully.
