AVTECH Software is pleased to announce that an update to PageR Enterprise is available for download at AVTECH.com. It is strongly recommended that all PageR Enterprise users upgrade to this version as it adds a number of new features and resolves some issues from previous versions.
PageR Enterprise v4.4.2 includes the following:
- Added an option to log all alarm notifications sent in a 'Notify.log' file located in the install directory.
- The Bandwidth Monitored Object can now monitor serial and loopback interfaces in addition to physical network interfaces.
- Modified the Alarm Object so a Task Object can now be specified to be executed when the alarm clears.
- Changed the Directory Monitored Object to be a Persistent Alarm instead of a Discrete Alarm. This allows users to monitor for directory size or file count and automatically clear the alarm if the parameters return to an acceptable level.
- Improved the Win32 Process Monitored Object so it can compare the list of running processes to an approved list and generate an alarm if a process that does not appear on the list is running.
- Email notifications now include a link to the web browser interface for the monitored object that generated the alarm.
- Users can now specify the text used for the Alarm Cleared message by putting a '/c' in the Alarm Text field for the monitored object and typing the desired Alarm Cleared text after it. Any text that appears after the '/c' will be used as the Alarm Cleared message.
- A new option was added to the 'Globals 2' tab that allows users to only scan the monitored objects that have changed since the last saved configuration. Selecting the 'Scan changed MOs only' is useful for testing as it allows users to test monitored objects that have changed without having to scan all monitored objects.
- Resolved an issue with the UDP Service monitored object caused by recent Windows Service Packs.
- Added a new 'Windows System' Monitored Object that supports all Windows systems including Windows 2003 and Vista.
- Modified the SNMP Query Monitored Object so the names of SNMP MIB objects can be edited.
- Modified the Web Page Monitored Object so users can choose whether or not to download images with the page.
- Added an option to make a backup of the configuration before new changes are saved.
