My Room Alert or TemPageR device is attached to the network but I am unable to discover it. How can I discover it using the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility?
In the event that a Room Alert 11E, Room Alert 7E or TemPageR 4E ID Box is not discovered using the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility, disable any software firewalls, pop-up blockers or anti-virus applications you have installed on your system and try performing a search again.
If the Room Alert or TemPageR device is still undiscoverable, your network may be blocking UDP broadcast packets which is the method used by the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility to detect your unit. If this is the case, install the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility on a system located on the same subnet as your Room Alert or TemPageR unit and click the 'Search' button.
If you are still unable to locate your Room Alert or TemPageR unit, connect your unit directly to a system that has the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility installed on it using a Cross-Over Ethernet cable. Be sure to set a valid static IP address, gateway IP address, subnet mask and dns server IP address for the system you are attaching your Room Alert or TemPageR unit to and click the 'Search' button.
If your unit is still not discovered, please contact our Technical Support staff at Support@AVTECH.com.
If you were able to discover your Room Alert or TemPageR unit using the steps above, use the 'Set IP' button of the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility to assign a static IP address, gateway IP address, subnet mask and dns server IP address to your unit that is valid for where it will be located on your network.
