How do I update the Firmware on my TemPageR 4E, Room Alert 7E, or Room Alert 11E unit?
The Firmware Update process for the TemPageR 4E, Room Alert 7E and Room Alert 11E is the same. Please see below for a step by step walkthrough of the Firmware Update process.
Verify that you have version 2.5.3 or later of the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility installed.
Obtain your unit's Firmware Update file from the download section for that specific model. Save it to your desktop and DO NOT unzip the Firmware Update file if it arrives as a .zip file.
Make completely sure that there are no systems on your network currently accessing the web server interface for the unit you wish to update. If this cannot be verified with absolute certainty, it is strongly recommended that you temporarily change the IP address of that unit so that no one is accessing it during Firmware Update. After the Firmware Update process is complete, please feel free to reset the IP address if changed.
Open the AVTECH Device Discovery Utility and click the 'Search' button.
Select the unit you wish to update and click the 'Update' button. If the unit is not discovered, click the 'Update' button without selecting a unit from the list and you will be prompted for the IP address.
Click 'Ok' on the dialog that loads, navigate to the downloaded Firmware Update file and click the 'Upload' button.
Review the 'README.htm' file that displays for updates included this release and click 'Ok' on the prompt that displays to perform the firmware update.
When the firmware update process completes, the unit will automatically reboot to apply the update.
